Nelson Piquet's podium interview at the 2014 Brazil F1 GP is surely the most awkward since the format started. After asking Lewis Hamilton about his "old girlfriend" Nicole Scherzinger and declaring his jealousy of Lewis because of her, he went on to ignore Nico Rosberg, who should have had the last word on the podium as race winners traditionally do. Neither Hamilton, who tried to leave the podium early, or Rosberg, who seemingly swore something as he left the podium, were amused by Piquet's incompetence, drunkenness, overall crudeness, or perhaps all of the above.

Of course Nelson Piquet has a reputation for non-conventional interviews...

Nico should be a little smart and thank Piquet for what he did. Piquet was in the past in the same position of Nico, Mansell were faster and protected by Frank Williians, and Piquet was able to mess with Mansell's head with his sharp tongue and trash talk, and won the champioship thanks to Mansell,s errors.
Nico should take the lesson how Piquet embarassed Hamilton with 3 worlds in less than one minute, and try to do the same to have a shot for the champioship.
Hamilton has the poins advantage, and is faster than Nico, Nico have to try use some o Piquet's streetwise to win.

Nice find. Kudos on Ted Kravitz for trying to get something out of Nico's podium exit, but Nico didn't take the bait (as he shouldn't have).

Yeah, good on Rosberg to let it go (in public, anyway). Wouldn't it have been sweet if he'd tracked Piquet down afterward and roughed him up a la Hunt in "Rush" to defend Lewis' honor? Ha!
